Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") set out the rules that apply when you use the Riddlo mobile app ("Riddlo") and our mutual rights and obligations. Riddlo is operated by İlker Doğan ("we", "us").
When you accept the Terms while signing in to Riddlo, a contract is formed between you and us. If you do not accept the Terms, you may not use Riddlo.
How your personal data is processed is explained in separate documents: the Privacy Policy and the KVKK Disclosure Notice.
1. What is Riddlo?
Riddlo is a dating app where people get to know each other through questions. Every user builds a gate by choosing from two-option questions prepared by Riddlo; to write to someone, you first have to pass their gate.
Riddlo's core features are free; free use comes with limits on some actions, and the current limits are shown in the app. A Premium subscription removes these limits and adds extra features (see section 8).
Riddlo does not guarantee a match, a relationship or a meeting.
2. Who can use Riddlo?
To use Riddlo:
- you must be at least 18 years old,
- you must not have had an account closed before for violating these Terms.
We close any account we find to belong to someone under 18 immediately.
3. Your account
- You sign in to Riddlo with your Apple or Google account. You are responsible for keeping those accounts secure.
- You may open only one account. Your account is personal; you may not transfer it to or share it with anyone else.
- Your profile must contain accurate information, including your age and gender, and photos of yourself.
- You can freeze your account in the settings. A frozen account is hidden from other users; it reopens when you sign in again.
- You can permanently delete your account in the settings. Deletion cannot be undone. Your profile, photos and conversations are deleted, including on the other person's side. Records we are required by law to keep are kept as described in the Privacy Policy. You can't sign up again with a deleted account for 24 hours.
- Deleting or freezing your account does not cancel your Premium subscription (see section 8).
4. Community rules
To keep Riddlo a respectful and safe place, the following are prohibited. We have zero tolerance for harassment and inappropriate content.
- Harassment, threats, bullying, stalking, and persisting with unwanted contact
- Nudity or sexual photos, audio or messages; offering sexual services or facilitating prostitution
- Hate speech, humiliation or discrimination based on characteristics such as race, ethnic origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability
- Violence, incitement to violence, or encouraging self-harm
- Any content involving or sexualising anyone under 18
- Creating a fake profile; using someone else's photos or identity; misrepresenting your age or identity
- Fraud; asking for money, gifts, investments or financial information
- Advertising, spam, commercial promotion, or directing users to other platforms
- Sharing other people's personal data (such as phone numbers, addresses, photos or conversations) without their permission
- Content that infringes copyright or other rights of others
- Selling drugs, weapons or illegal goods or services
- Using Riddlo through bots, scripts or automated tools; scraping data; attempting to bypass its security or disrupt the service
- Any content or conduct that violates the laws of the Republic of Türkiye
Gate questions you suggest are subject to these rules too: you may not suggest questions that humiliate others, are sexual, or ask for personal data.
5. Reporting and blocking
- You can report a person from within the app (from their profile, from a chat or while trying their gate).
- You can block any user. Once blocked, the two of you no longer see each other and can no longer message each other: your conversation is hidden on both sides, and neither of you can attempt the other's gate or send likes. The block stays even if they delete their account and sign up again with the same Apple / Google account.
- We review reports as quickly as possible and take the measures in section 6.
- We do not read your messages. When a person is reported, we review only the description and screenshots sent with the report and, if necessary, the reported conversation.
- We may report content involving anyone under 18 and situations amounting to a crime to the competent authorities, and we comply with court and authority orders.
- If there is a danger to life, call 112 first.
For notices of illegal content and official requests: support@riddlo.app
6. Violations
- We remove content that violates the Terms; depending on the severity of the violation, we may close the account permanently.
- For serious violations such as content involving anyone under 18, threats, fraud or sexual content, we close the account immediately.
- If your account is closed, you will see this when you try to sign in to the app.
- To appeal the decision, write to support@riddlo.app. We will review your appeal and let you know the outcome.
- A person whose account was closed for violating the rules may not open a new account. For this reason, no new account can be opened from a device used by a closed account.
7. Your content
- The photos you upload to your profile, the texts you write and the messages you send (including photos and audio) belong to you. You are responsible for making sure this content complies with the law and the Terms.
- Only upload content you have the right to share.
- So that Riddlo can work, you grant us a free, non-exclusive permission to store your content, process it technically (for example, resize it), show it to other users and deliver it, solely for the purpose of providing the service. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
- Gate question suggestions: you can suggest gate questions to us from within the app. We review suggestions and add the ones we find suitable to the gate questions, as they are or edited; we decide which suggestions are published and don't notify you of the outcome. A published question is made available to all users without your name. For a question you suggest, you grant us a free, perpetual, non-exclusive permission to use, edit and publish it; this permission continues even if you delete your account.
- We do not use your content for advertising and we do not sell it to third parties.
- Other users' content belongs to them. You may not copy, share or distribute it outside Riddlo.
8. Premium subscription
- Premium is an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription. What Premium includes, its price and its duration are shown on the purchase screen before you buy.
- Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play. You are charged through your store account when you confirm the purchase. We never see your payment details.
- Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, the subscription renews automatically for the same duration. The renewal fee is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription in the App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you keep Premium until then.
- Deleting or freezing your Riddlo account does not cancel the subscription; you must also cancel it in the store.
- Price increases are notified to you in advance according to the store's rules.
- Right of withdrawal: Because Premium is a digital service that starts being provided as soon as it is purchased, there is no right of withdrawal under consumer legislation.
- Refund requests are subject to the App Store's or Google Play's refund policies and are made to the relevant store.
- If your account is closed under section 6, we do not refund the remaining subscription period.
- Your statutory consumer rights are reserved.
9. Ads
Riddlo has optional rewarded ads: for example, you can choose to watch an ad to see someone who liked you or visited your profile. Ads are not personalised. We are not responsible for advertisers' products and services.
10. Your safety
We do not verify users' identities and we do not run criminal background checks. Be careful in your communication and meetings with other users:
- Meet someone you don't know for the first time in a busy, public place, and let someone close to you know.
- Think carefully before sharing personal information such as your address, workplace or bank details.
- Report users who ask you for money or financial information, make you uncomfortable, or pretend to be someone else.
11. Liability
- We provide Riddlo with care and reasonable security measures, but we cannot guarantee that it will work without interruption or errors. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates or technical failures.
- We are not responsible for how users behave towards each other or for the content they share; when we learn of a violation, we take the necessary measures.
- Our liability for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, and in cases where liability cannot be limited by law, is reserved. Nothing in the Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
- You are responsible, within the law, for damage you cause to us or others by violating the Terms.
12. Intellectual property
The Riddlo name, logo, design, software and all content other than user content belong to us. We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive permission to use Riddlo for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with the Terms. Except where the law allows it, you may not copy, modify or reverse-engineer the app.
13. App Store and Google Play
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. We, not Apple or Google, are responsible for Riddlo and its content, maintenance and support.
- You must use Riddlo in line with the usage rules of the store you downloaded it from and the terms of your Apple / Google account.
If you downloaded Riddlo from the App Store, also:
- You may use Riddlo only on Apple devices that you own or control.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Riddlo.
- If Riddlo fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Any claims relating to Riddlo concerning product liability, regulatory compliance, consumer rights or intellectual property infringement are directed to us, not Apple.
- You declare that you are not located in a country subject to an embargo and are not on any prohibited or restricted parties list.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. When you accept the Terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you.
14. Changes
- We may improve, change or remove Riddlo's features.
- If we decide to shut Riddlo down completely, we will announce it in the app at least 30 days in advance.
- We may update the Terms. The new version is shown to you when you open the app; to keep using Riddlo you need to accept it. If you do not want to accept it, you can delete your account.
15. Ending the contract
You can end the contract at any time by deleting your account. We may end the contract in the cases in section 6 or if we shut Riddlo down. Provisions that by their nature should survive the end of the contract (such as liability and disputes) remain in effect.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The Turkish version of the Terms is the reference version; this English text is a translation. If you have a problem, write to support@riddlo.app first and we will try to resolve it together.
If we cannot, under Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 you may apply to the consumer arbitration committee at your place of residence or where the transaction took place, within the monetary limits set each year, and for disputes above those limits, after mediation, to the consumer court.
